Asphalt Pothole Repair
Fast, professional pothole repair for driveways, parking lots, and roads in the Tulsa metro area.
Potholes are more than just an annoyance—they damage vehicles, create trip hazards for pedestrians, and expose your property to liability. In Oklahoma, our extreme temperature swings cause water to seep into cracks, freeze, expand, and break apart the asphalt surface. Left untreated, a small crack can become a major pothole in just one season.
Oklahoma Paving Repair & Maintenance provides fast, reliable pothole repair for residential and commercial properties across the greater Tulsa area. We fix potholes right the first time so they stay fixed.
How Potholes Form
Understanding why potholes develop helps you prevent them:
- Cracks develop in the asphalt surface from age, traffic, or UV damage
- Water seeps in through the cracks and reaches the base layer beneath the asphalt
- Freeze-thaw cycles cause the water to expand and contract, weakening the base
- The base erodes and the asphalt above loses support
- Traffic loads cause the unsupported asphalt to crack and crumble, creating a pothole
- The pothole grows as more water enters and more asphalt breaks away
This is why early intervention matters. Sealing cracks when they first appear is far cheaper than repairing the potholes they eventually become.
Our Pothole Repair Methods
Cut and Patch (Full-Depth Repair)
For larger or deeper potholes, we saw-cut a clean rectangle around the damaged area, remove all compromised material down to solid base, compact the base, and install new hot mix asphalt. This method provides the most durable, longest-lasting repair and is our recommended approach for most situations.
Surface Patching
For shallow surface failures where the base is still intact, we clean the area, apply tack coat for adhesion, and fill with hot mix asphalt compacted to match the surrounding surface. This is a cost-effective solution for minor surface damage.
Emergency Cold Patch
When a pothole creates an immediate safety hazard and weather conditions prevent hot mix application, we can apply a temporary cold patch to make the area safe until permanent repairs can be completed. Cold patch is a temporary solution—we always recommend following up with a permanent hot mix repair.
